DINING OUT

From casual to fine dining, Sonoma County is world famous for the exquisite and trend setting cuisine. Below you’ll find some of our favorite restaurants. Many restaurants will also cater onsite at the Dalya Estate for a truly magical evening of refined yet relaxed luxury.

Bravas One of the Stark group of restaurants – and the Starks definitely know how to deliver a great dining experience (several of their wonderful restaurants make this list of recommended faves!). Fabulous garden dining year-round, in the garden and under the covered bar area. Terrific tapas, great wines and cocktails.

Dry Creek Kitchen Charlie Palmer’s award-winning restaurant deserves the accolades. Right on Healdsburg Plaza, this elegant but unpretentious restaurant has a phenomenal wine list, and capitalizes on the best of California in its menu offerings.

The Bubble Bar This gorgeous newcomer is the brainchild of a longtime local resident, winemaker and entrepreneur-diva who has brought a piece of Parisian effervescence, literally and metaphorically, to this gem of a champagne bar. Incredible list of bubblies from all over the world. Across the street from Single Thread. Can’t go wrong!

Sonoma Pizza Co Just three minutes up the road in charming Forestville is some of the best pizza in Sonoma – it’s a labor of love from a family with lots of restaurant experience over the years in San Francisco that now brings both Neopolitan and super thin-crust expertise to all their lucky diners. Eat in or order to go and enjoy it poolside at Dalya Estate!

Bazaar-Sonoma (BaSo) Single Thread alums have opened a phenomenal little gem serving innovative takes on traditional Chinese, particularly Szechuan cuisine. The “Zhong Dumplings” are so good you’ll want to order a second serving. We suggest you go for it! Sean & Jenny and their entire team are beloved in the area - when their kitchen had a fire, and Sonoma Pizza Co let them use their parking lot as a popup space, hundreds lined up for their famous fried chicken — well worth any wait.

Region This is a dream of a wine bar where you can often meet local winemakers on hand to explain their approach, answer questions and just be engaging and available for any questions you have. The wine-wall lets you choose a quarter, a half, or a full pour of a wide array of boutique, top producers from the local region (hence the name “Region!”). Special bonus: you can order through a QR code from most of the restaurants in the Barlow, who will deliver your meal directly to the wine bar for you to enjoy there onsite!

Fern Bar Creative California cuisine and outstanding cocktails in a beautiful space in The Barlow in downtown Sebastopol. Dine indoors or out on the patio.

Kosho Incredible sushi and original preparations of Japanese dishes with indoor/outdoor dining graced by firepits in cool weather. Part of the collection of stellar restaurants in The Barlow, where you’ll often find live music, wine tastings, grassy outdoor areas to relax outside.

Khom Loi Gorgeous LEED-certified redesign and stellar Thai food delivered alongside a fantastic wine list full of local specialties from regional boutique producers. Park around the corner and walk the local residential street adjacent for a special outdoor art experience, the Florence Art Walk.

The Farmhouse Inn Hotel & Spa Just four minutes up the road sits one of America’s top-rated boutique hotels, whose restaurant boasts a Michelin star. Upscale fine dining served with a smile — no worries about any special requests here, the Farmhouse Inn staff is there to accommodate and satisfy diners every time. Beautiful dining in the graceful interior rooms, and enchanting garden dining year-round. A special occasion? Anniversary or engagement? You can’t do better.

A fabulous wine list of local and international depth, and a wonderful, constantly changing menu highlighting local produce from the bountiful farms and ranches and dairies that surround Sonoma, this is a very pretty restaurant whose patio is one of our faves.

Grossman’s Noshery & Bar All things Jewish here in the heart of old town Santa Rosa: bagels and challah french toast made in house? Check. Update on Israeli falafel plates? Check. Incredible pastrami, brisket, corned beef and lox plates? Check. Creative, casual, family-friendly and hip, Grossman’s serves up delicious food to please everyone in the family, from kiddos who want a plain bagel to adventurous diners who want to try creative interpretations of Israeli cuisine. Right next to the Santa Rosa smart train stop, too!

Cannetti Roadhouse Italiana Romantic and authentic Italian restaurant just up the road in Forestville. Drive there in three minutes, or ride your bicycle up the West County trail for a delightful evening.

The Willowood Cafe One of the two closest restaurants to The Dalya Estate, located in neighboring Graton, just 4-5 minutes’ drive, is the Willowood cafe, serving bountiful and beautiful meals, from breakfast through dinner.

Underwood Bar & Bistro A unique spot offering classic and perfectly executed bistro fare (think steak frites and duck confit) alongside creatine updates on Thai cuisine, all served in a charming old house flowing out into a spacious and very chill patio. There’s a speakeasy-feel with fantastic cocktails.

Journeyman Meat A Healdsburg original, making incredible cured meats all in-house. Dine onsite or take it to go for a gourmet picnic at any of the dozens of fabulous wineries nearby.

Single Thread The newest sensation restaurant serving exceptional cuisine in a refined space, just a short drive — and a stunning one on Westside Road — in Healdsburg.

Roof 106 at The Matheson A go-to favorite, whether you take a seat at the spacious and friendly bar, get comfy in lounge seating, or score a table on the covered patio overlooking Healdsburg Plaza. Broccolini pizza tops the menu!

Cyrus Dining as a journey, curated culinary adventure. This is fine dining in a stunning contemporary space, and the open kitchen produces plates as inventive and masterful as they are visually beautiful.

Little Saint & The Second Story This beautiful all day cafe-restaurant-lounge and upstairs music venue will wow you with flavors, textures, and inspiration. Little Saint redefines and epitomizes plant-based cuisine, and is committed to sustainable farming drawing from the finest local ingredients. Fabulous extensive wine bar, featuring many natural wines, and an outstanding live music venue upstairs at the Second Story.

Guiso Latin Fusion Chef Carlos and his incredibly talented, welcoming team produce some of the most innovative and delicious food in the county and in the country. “Latin Fusion” in Guiso’s interpretation blends Salvadorean, pan-latin and purely genius combinations that Carlos somehow conjures. Don’t miss the ceviche, the cachaca, or any dish containing the secret family-recipe “guiso” sauce.
